Explore Zanzibar

Floating off the Tanzanian coast, the Zanzibar Archipelago is a breathtaking sanctuary where ivory sands dissolve into the warm embrace of the turquoise Indian Ocean. It serves as the ultimate post-safari retreat—a place to trade the rugged energy of the bush for a relaxed, romantic atmosphere steeped in Swahili heritage. Whether you are wandering the ancient stone alleys of the capital or letting the rhythmic tides dictate your schedule, Zanzibar offers a timeless escape where the soul can truly exhale.

Dive into a world of turquoise waters, ivory sands, and the timeless history of Stone Town. Whether you are looking for a romantic escape or a family adventure, Zanzibar offers curated island experiences blending relaxation and discovery.

Zanzibar is more than just a beach destination; it is a sensory journey. From aromatic spice plantations to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Stone Town, the archipelago invites you into a rich cultural tapestry.

With warm equatorial waters, world-class diving, and soft sandy beaches, Zanzibar remains one of Africa’s most captivating tropical escapes.

The Zanzibar Beaches

Zanzibar’s coastline changes dramatically depending on which side of the island you visit.

The North: Nungwi & Kendwa (The "All-Day" Beaches)

This is the only part of the island where the ocean doesn’t recede for miles during low tide, making it the best spot for swimming at any time of day.

  • Nungwi: A bustling hub with a mix of traditional dhow-building yards and lively beach bars. It’s famous for its turquoise water and social atmosphere.

  • Kendwa: Just south of Nungwi, it features a much wider beach and is home to the famous "Full Moon" parties. It offers a slightly more upscale, resort-focused vibe.

The East: Paje, Jambiani & Matemwe (The "Scenic" Beaches)

The east coast is characterized by dramatic tides. At low tide, the ocean disappears to the horizon, leaving behind shallow pools; at high tide, it’s a paradise for water sports.

  • Paje: The global headquarters for Kitesurfing. The flat, shallow lagoon is perfect for both beginners and pros.

  • Jambiani: A miles-long stretch of authentic Swahili life. It’s quieter than Paje and ideal for long walks and visiting local seaweed farms.

  • Matemwe: Very quiet and secluded. It’s the closest point to the Mnemba Atoll, making it the best "base camp" for serious divers and snorkelers.

The South & Southwest: Kizimkazi & Fumba (The "Wild" Coast)

  • Kizimkazi: Famous for its rugged coral cliffs and as a jumping-off point for dolphin safaris.

  • Fumba: Located in the Menai Bay Conservation Area, this is the starting point for the "Safari Blue" tours. It is untouched and incredibly peaceful.
